UTEP Programs & Activities

We also participate in various philanthropic (donation of money/goods) and community service (donation of time/services) projects with charitable organizations, as well as athletic, social, and academic endeavors sponsored by UTEP each year.  These are some:

Project MOVE (Miner Opportunities for Volunteer Experiences)

Our fraternity registers annually to assist non-profit organizations around the city with projects to improve our communities. The logo has details with recent Chapter photos at PHOTOS T Tab.

IFC.  The Interfraternity Council is the local campus organizing body for 3  fraternities at UTEP and coordinates their operations (UTEP is also home to 6 sororities).  We provide a designated representative to the IFC, and the linked-logo for Fraternity and Sorority Life below (which also sponsors various programs and events during the semester) provides specific Greek information at its top and side menus.  A UTEP staff member, assisted by an Intern (click photo), serves as Coordinator of  Fraternity & Sorority Life.

NOTE:  COVID virtual environment altered/delayed some of these activities/events.

Greek Week Held in late March for a week, it's an annual celebration in which fraternities and sororities compete in various events to include athletics. The purpose is for all Greek organizations to unite, and specific events are announced as the week approaches.

Minerpalooza.  We take part in this one-day annual campus-wide pep rally featuring events that kick off the UTEP football season and launch the academic year.  Highlights include live bands on stage, food, games, beer & wine garden, carnival booths, and special appearances by student athletes and coaches. Theta Chi attends with many other campus organizations.  Just click the icon for details:

Homecoming.  This is an on-campus week of festivities including tours and open houses, reunions and alumni receptions, meal gatherings, music and entertainment, and a parade, pageant, and pep rally followed by tailgate parties and UTEP’s homecoming football game.  Click Paydirt Pete for information:

Over this same Homecoming week, all Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), including Theta Chi, participate in the RSOlympics— a variety of sports events, games, and other activities—to support Homecoming and accrue attendance, participation, and performance points toward winning recognition publicity at the pep rally and UTEP game halftime, as well as Greek organization prestige and a possible monetary prize.  As Team Pac-Man,  ΘΧ combined with ΑΣΑ were the 2016 Homecoming/ RSOlympics champions!  Information is at this link:

FSL Alumni Reunion & Spring Gala FSL and Order of Omega (Greek honor society) host these fall and spring get-togethers for all fraternities and sororities to socialize, enjoy light food and drink refreshments, and be recognized with various awards they’ve earned over the semester in academics, community service, Greek leadership, and participation in UTEP activities, clubs, and organizations.  Each event has a different venue with related theme dress (or dressy casual in lieu of), lasts a few hours, and respectable attendance is expected.  The photo below shows Theta Chi winning "Fraternity of the Year" at the spring Gala with more photos at PHOTOS  TWe won again in 2020.

FSL Good Standing Program The GSP serves as a "report card" for each Greek organization during each semester.  Failure to send in an Event Report of all our activities for recording can put our fraternity in serious jeopardy.  The link below shows the items and details of what is to be accomplished.

FSL Policy ManualServes as the governing document for Fraternity & Sorority Life at UTEP.
